Wall Street Regulators Targeted in Trump’s Workforce Order

President Donald Trump’s order stripping federal civil service protections from around 8,000 federal workers reaches deep into the ranks of some Wall Street regulators, as agency veterans sounded the alarm about the administration gaining new tools to sideline bank examination officials and crypto cops.

The White House’s executive order was meant to target federal employees charged with shaping federal policies, but the list released Wednesday covers dozens of employees at financial regulatory agencies who don’t appear to be in policymaking roles.
