Virginia Tax Department Announces Employer, Payer Withholding Tax Payment Deadline

The Virginia Department of Taxation Jan. 18 announced that Jan. 31. is the due date for submitting 2022 withholding records, including W-2 and 1099 forms, for employers or organizations that withheld state income taxes in 2022, for individual income and corporate income tax purposes. All 1099 forms should also be submitted by Jan. 31. Taxpayers can also submit corrected Form W-2s (or “W-2Cs”) for tax year 2021 and beyond, but they need to submit written copies of updated W-2s for tax year 2020 and prior. [Va.
