Sustainability Rulemaker to Monitor Global Climate Guidelines

The International Sustainability Standards Board said Monday that it would assume responsibility for monitoring climate reporting guidelines set by global regulators.

The sustainability rulemaker will next year begin monitoring how corporations use disclosures created by a Financial Stability Board study group, the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures. The board, a global financial watchdog, established the task force in 2017 to make recommendations on corporate climate-risk disclosure. Its guidelines were incorporated into the ISSB’s own climate standard published in June.
