A company hired to run recreational vehicle facilities at a public park outside Dallas is immune from property taxes at the site, because of the nature of its permit, a Texas appeals court ruled Monday.
The Hunt County Appraisal District imposed about $49,000 in property taxes for 2022 and 2023 on Lake Tawakoni Wind Point Park Corp.'s RV park facilities on property owned by the Sabine River Authority, a public entity. The Texas Court of Appeals, Sixth Appellate District, agreed with the trial court that LT’s improvements to the public property were also tax-exempt.
