Pennsylvania Court Rejects GOP Challenges to State Election Law

Pennsylvania’s high court refused to hear Republicans’ challenge to state rules allowing voters to “cure” defects in their mail-in ballots.

The case is one of two election-related lawsuits in which the Pennsylvania Supreme Court refused to exercise its King’s Bench jurisdiction—which allows it to expeditiously consider cases that haven’t yet gone through the lower courts.

Republicans’ “alleged need for timely intervention” is a result of their “own failure to proceed expeditiously and thus, the need for timely intervention has not been demonstrated,” the court wrote in a per curiam order issued Saturday.
