Oregon Considers Detaching From Federal Auto Interest Tax Break

Business groups told Oregon lawmakers they disagree with a push underway to decouple from parts of the 2025 federal tax law.

The state senate heard the feedback Wednesday in the first public hearing on a bill (S.B. 1507) that would sever Oregon from several consequential changes made in the GOP tax and spending package President Donald Trump signed in July as the state seeks to balance its budget.
