New York Tax and Finance Department Proposes to Amend Regulation for Third Quarter Fuel Tax Rates

The New York Department of Taxation and Finance May 3 proposed to amend a regulation on fuel use tax rates, for sales and use and excise tax purposes. The proposal includes a measure to update the sales tax components, composite rates, and aggregate rates applicable to motor fuel and diesel fuel for the third quarter of 2023. The regulation also reflects the aggregate rate per gallon for purposes of the joint administration of fuel use and carrier taxes.
