Finland to Defer UN Global Tax Treaty Accession Until Talks End

Finland said it will only assess a possible accession to the United Nations’ global tax treaty until after negotiations have ended.

The country holds concerns over having an accurate picture of the treaty’s economic impacts, and those effects can only be assessed accurately once the talks have progressed further, Finland’s Ministry of Finance said Monday.

“The UN has not yet made any estimates of the economic impacts of the proposals,” the ministry said in a news release.
