Exxon to Capture Carbon from Linde’s Texas Clean Hydrogen Plant

Exxon Mobil Corp. signed a long-term contract with Linde Plc to capture carbon emissions at the chemical manufacturer’s new clean hydrogen plant in Beaumont, Texas.

Exxon will capture and store as much as 2.2 million metric tons of carbon dioxide each year from the plant, which will supply hydrogen to a nearby facility producing clean ammonia run by Amsterdam-based OCI NV. The deal follows a similar agreement for Exxon to capture carbon from a CF Industries ammonia plant in Louisiana announced in October.
