California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) signed a bill that confirms the end of a property tax break for solar power projects that’s been on the books since 1980.
S.B. 710, signed Oct. 3, was initially an attempt to keep the program alive with more restrictions. But after amendments, the legislation ultimately confirmed the original sunset date for the program on Jan. 1, 2027.
