Arizona Asks Court to Overturn U.S. Restrictions on Covid Aid

Spending restrictions on the latest round of pandemic aid funds sent to states are already costing Arizona money and infringing on its sovereignty, the state told a federal appeals court.

In a brief and further excerpts of record filed Friday with the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich disputed the U.S. Treasury Department’s argument that the state lacked standing to challenge restrictions on American Rescue Plan funds.
