Alabama DOR Publishes Local Jurisdictions Participating in 2021 Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday

The Alabama Department of Revenue (DOR) Feb. 5 published an updated list of counties and municipalities participating in the 2021 severe weather preparedness sales tax holiday. The holiday begins on Feb. 26 and runs through Feb. 28. A county or municipality, by resolution or ordinance adopted at least 30 days prior to the last full weekend of February, can provide an exemption for covered items from county or municipal sales and use taxes during the holiday period.
