Yum! Brands, Inc. investors didn’t adequately allege that the publicly traded corporation, which owns Taco Bell and Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant chains, and three senior officers made false or misleading statements regarding chicken supplied to the entity’s China subsidiary, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit affirmed Aug. 20 (Bondali v. Yum! Brands, Inc., 2015 BL 268078, 6th Cir., No.15-5064, 8/20/15).
The amended complaint didn’t assert facts showing Yum!’s statements were “objectively false or misleading in light of the information now known,” Judge David McKeague said in affirming the lower court’s findings.
