Vietnam asked the US to consider tax exemptions for some agricultural and aquatic products that do not directly compete with US goods, VietnamPlus news website reports.
- The report cited a meeting between Vietnam’s deputy agriculture minister Hoang Trung and USDA’s Acting Deputy Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs Jason Hafemeister
- Vietnam has cut import taxes to 0% for wood products and furniture, corn, soybeans from US
- Hafemeister said the US Secretary of Agriculture is expected to visit Vietnam in May to continue discussions
