US Tech Firms Urge End to Canada Tax Laws in Trade Deal Review

US tech companies said Monday the US government should pressure Canada and Mexico during a renegotiation of North America’s free trade deal to abandon tax laws that negatively affect them.

The Office of the US Trade Representative should secure a commitment from Canada to repeal several recent laws that mount levies on American firms, the Computer & Communications Industry Association said in a submission to a consultation run by the office.
