Ukraine’s ‘Google Tax’ Raised $336 Million From Tech in 2025

Ukraine’s tax on foreign companies’ sales of digital services into the country brought in about $336 million in tax revenue last year, the government said.

The so-called Google tax, which went into effect in 2022, is a 20% value-added tax on sales of digital services by nonresidents into Ukraine. Last year the levy raised around 14.4 billion hryvnia ($335.7 million), according to a Monday release.

The major payers were Apple Inc., Google, Valve Corp., Meta Platforms Inc., Sony Group Corp., Etsy Inc., and Netflix Inc., according to the release.
