A UK court agreed to hear an appeal filed by an information technology supplier against a lower court’s decision related to alleged value-added tax evasion.
The Upper Tribunal admitted Eurolaser IT Ltd.'s appeal Monday arguing the First-tier Tribunal’s upholding of £2.4 million ($3.2 million) in VAT assessments and penalties against the company was “flawed.”
The FTT had in April 2025 found that a self-employed consultant, acting as a salesperson for Eurolaser IT, knew or should have known that certain suppliers to the company were involved in fraudulent VAT evasion.
