UK E-Invoicing Plan Provides Needed Time for Changes, Group Says

The UK’s decision to roll out digital invoicing from 2029 will give businesses “much-needed” time to prepare for the changes, a tax professional body said Tuesday.

Mandatory e-invoicing for VAT purposes, beginning in April 2029, will also benefit smaller businesses, which won’t be required to adopt the technology at this stage, the Association of Taxation Technicians said in a press release.

“A well-designed roadmap, setting out a clear long-term vision, realistic implementation timelines, and a firm commitment to delivery will give businesses the time and certainty they need to plan, invest, and adapt,” the ATT said.
