U.S. Global Tax Suggestion Is ‘Urgent’ Issue: OECD Official

The U.S. isn’t walking away from negotiations over the OECD’s global tax rewrite, but its recent suggestion to make the new rules optional “clearly needs urgent explanation,” an organization official said.

“We’re obviously concerned. We’re trying to understand the U.S. position,” Ben Dickinson, head of global relations and development at the OECD’s Center for Tax Policy and Administration, said Dec. 11 on a webcast hosted by the Tax Justice Network.
