Tax directors want the OECD’s upcoming guidance on global mobility to include new safe harbors, clarity on profit allocation, and administrative simplicity to address issues arising from cross-border work.
Employees working from their home country for 30 days in a year shouldn’t trigger “draconian” tax issues for businesses, Daniel Goff, corporate vice president, worldwide tax and customs at Microsoft, said Tuesday during a panel chaired by the International Fiscal Association.
The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development is working on developing guidance for mobile workers, starting with a consultation period launched late last year.
