Sweden Proposes Temporary Extension to Claim State Aid Through Reduced Energy Tax Due to Coronavirus

The Swedish Ministry of Finance Jan. 11 proposed a temporary extension of time to claim reduced energy tax state aid benefits from Dec. 31, 2021. The extension now applies to the period between July 1, 2022, and Dec. 31, 2022. Companies that faced difficulties due to the coronavirus pandemic and request a deduction, apply for a refund, or request a reconsideration may claim the tax benefit.
