Sanofi Raided in French Tax Fraud Probe of SocGen Financing Deal

Sanofi SA’s Paris headquarters were raided Tuesday by French authorities as part of a tax fraud investigation into a financing deal provided by Societe Generale SA.

The French pharmaceutical giant said that the case focuses on an arrangement offered by the lender for an acquisition more than a decade ago. Financial prosecutors at the Parquet National Financier said the probe concerns suspicions of aggravated money laundering connected to tax fraud and criminal conspiracy. French newspaper Le Monde reported the raid earlier.
