Pakistan to Gradually Increase Fuel Tax Levy: Finance Minister

Pakistan to raise fuel tax to maximum 80 rupees a liter from current 60 rupees a liter gradually through the fiscal year, finance minister Muhammad Aurangzeb says in post-budget press conference.

  • NOTE: Pakistan to increase revenue by 33% to 1.28 trillion rupees from petroleum levy, 7% of the nation’s total revenue
  • Nation aims to secure staff-level deal with IMF by July
