Moldova Tax Agency Clarifies Elimination of Tax Exemptions for Certain Resident Individuals

The Moldovan State Tax Service Journal Sept. 30 announced a consultation under the 2020 budget package eliminating individual income tax exemptions for residents with income over 360,000 Moldovan lei (US$20,350). The announcement explained that: 1) the exemption elimination doesn’t apply to entrepreneurs; and 2) an individual can still claim spousal and dependent exemptions.
