Malaysia’s Tenaga Faces MYR840 Million in Additional Tax Demand

Tenaga Nasional Bhd. has received a demand for 840 million ringgit ($198 million) in additional tax for 2022 from Malaysia’s Inland Revenue Board, the company said in a filing on Friday.

  • The state-owned electricity company said it is evaluating legal options to address the additional assessment notice
  • NOTE: TNB lost a legal bid to dispute a 1.8 billion ringgit additional tax bill for the year 2018 by IRB earlier this month
