Keep Tax Out of EU Company Law Simplification, Ireland Says

The EU’s upcoming proposal for a simplified company law regime should exclude any tax component, according to a document circulated by Ireland.

The document, seen by Bloomberg, was circulated and discussed at a Dec. 8 meeting of EU industry, trade, and commerce ministers. “The proposal should focus on company law issues and not extend into other areas such as employment law and taxation matters,” it said.
