Demand for bilateral advance tax agreements with India was stronger than ever last year, with more than half of it coming from the US, new data shows.
The Indian Central Board of Direct Taxes on Oct. 17 released its full annual report on advance pricing agreements, or APAs, following up on an initial finding in March that reported India signed a record 174 agreements in the 2024-2025 year.
APAs let companies ask tax authorities to pre-approve their tax arrangements to avoid future disputes.
