HMRC Taps BAE Systems, Coefficient Systems to Help Close Tax Gap

The UK tax authority awarded one-year contracts to a subsidiary of a British defense multinational and a data consultancy company to help it build systems aimed at reducing the tax gap.

BAE Systems Applied Intelligence Ltd. and Coefficient Systems Ltd. will enter a 12-month pilot phase to test concepts they developed to help His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs close the difference between the tax it expects to collect and what it actually collects, the office said in a press release Wednesday.
