The Group of 20 nations Thursday agreed to continue working towards an agreement on the global minimum tax.
Finance ministers for the G20 nations meeting in South Africa across 16-17 Oct. said they would “continue engaging constructively” on negotiations over the framework’s global minimum tax rule.
The global minimum tax—Pillar Two of the OECD-led tax pact—seeks to impose a 15% minimum levy on multinational companies in every country where they operate.
The statement added that the nations’ shared goal is finding a “balanced and practical solution that is acceptable to all as soon as possible.”
