France Pushes Budget Talks to 2026, Raising Deficit Doubts

A French parliamentary committee failed to agree on a 2026 budget, pushing discussion on the full fiscal plan into the new year and increasing doubts over how the government can rein in the deficit.

The group of seven lawmakers from the National Assembly and seven senators quickly abandoned efforts to reconcile drafts on Friday morning as the two houses and differing political groups remain deeply divided.
