Jared Bernstein’s nomination to chair the White House Council of Economic Advisers is set for a vote next week under a plan announced by Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.).
Schumer undertook moves to confirm Bernstein as soon as mid-week, but the plans appear contingent on all Democrats being present to cast their votes for President Joe Biden’s nominee. Senate Republicans so far have declined to support Bernstein as a replacement for former CEA Chair Cecilia Rouse.
