Chevron Paid $16.6 Billion in Taxes to Host Governments in 2023

Chevron paid nearly $4 billion to the Australian government in taxes and fees last year, the highest amount of any country globally, the company says in a CHEVRON CORP: SDregulatory filing.

  • Chevron paid $3.2 billion to Nigeria, and almost $2 billion to the US, the filing shows
  • Chevron is reporting resource extraction payments for the fiscal year ended Dec. 31, 2023
