Business Cheers OECD Deal on ‘Side-by-Side’ Global Tax System (1)

US business groups and lawmakers welcomed an agreement reached by over 140 countries at the OECD that would exempt American companies from major parts of the global minimum tax framework.

Securing the carve-out for US businesses shows a “commitment to America’s economic strength,” Jonathan Samford, president and CEO of the Global Business Alliance, said in a statement.

“Greater certainty and predictability in global tax systems are essential for the international companies that invest in the United States, support millions of American jobs and strengthen U.S. competitiveness.”
