BGOV Bill Analysis: H.R. 1, House GOP Reconciliation Package (2)

President Donald Trump’s tax, energy, immigration, defense, and health-care priorities would be enacted under H.R. 1, House Republicans’ sweeping bill that uses the budget reconciliation process to bypass Democratic opposition in the Senate.

The measure would make permanent lower tax rates from Republicans’ marquee 2017 tax law (Public Law 115-97) that expire at the end of the year and add new tax breaks for seniors and tipped and overtime wages.
