Australia Big Four Look Beyond Accountants to AI-Empowered Grads

Australia’s Big Four accounting firms are seeking AI-curious graduates and offering fast-track accountancy training to deal with the challenges facing the sector.

Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand, an industry body, estimates that Australia will experience a shortfall of 6,000 accountants by 2030, largely because of the cost of degrees.

As the 2027 hiring season gets underway, the accounting and consulting firms are hoping that raising their intake of tech-savvy non-accounting majors will help to close the gap.
