The friendship struck up between Donald Trump and Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is so strong that the US president has said he would approve selling the most advanced American fighter jet available for export to the kingdom, the F-35.

Trump’s statement came the day before a Nov. 18 visit to the White House by the crown prince, during which the two announced a deepening of economic ties between their countries.
