A federal court panel denied a request from Utah Republican officials to block a new congressional map that could end the state’s all-GOP House delegation in the November election.
The US District Court for the District of Utah on Monday rejected GOP arguments that a state district court judge who replaced the Republican legislature’s 2021 map with new boundaries violated the Constitution’s Elections Clause, alleging that legislatures have exclusive authority to set congressional district lines.
