US Flights on Track for Fewest Cancellations Since Cuts Ordered

The US is on track to have fewer flights canceled Wednesday than on any other day since the Trump administration restricted air travel, potentially avoiding the crippling snarls that hit airports in recent days.

As of 4 a.m. New York time, 878 US domestic and international flights are indicated as canceled, according to RTX Corp.’s FlightAware. Although that number may rise as the day unfolds, it is helped in part by fewer scheduled flights — there are 23,020 departures slated, about 2,500 fewer than average, according to Cirium. Tuesdays and Wednesdays tend to be slower travel days.
