Georgia Runoff for Greene’s Seat Keeps House GOP Leaders in Bind

House Republican leaders will have to wait four more weeks for a 219th seat to reinforce their shaky majority.

A special election Tuesday in the northwestern Georgia district formerly held by Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) didn’t yield a majority-vote winner. Republican Clay Fuller and Democrat Shawn Harris were the top vote-getters and advanced to an April 7 runoff in the strongly Republican 14th District.

Fuller, a district attorney endorsed by President Donald Trump, had 35% of the vote in nearly complete returns compared with 37% for Harris, a retired Army brigadier general who lost 64%-36% to Greene in 2024. Colton ...
