Former Department of Homeland Security official Troy Edgar is set to become the agency’s second-in-command after the Senate confirmed his nomination in a mostly partisan vote.
Senators voted 53-43 Thursday in favor of Edgar, President Donald Trump’s pick to be DHS’s deputy secretary. Edgar is the second homeland official to win Senate approval, following the January confirmation of Secretary Kristi Noem.
