Layoff Threat Ramps Up Shutdown Tensions
President Donald Trump is doing little to hide Republicans’ excitement at gutting the federal government despite other GOP leaders insisting they have no other choice.
Trump touted a meeting with Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought yesterday, plotting cuts to agencies important to Democrats. The layoffs could number in the thousands, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters yesterday.
