Trump Administration Challenges ‘Recycled’ Youth Climate Claims

Youth plaintiffs in a new constitutional climate lawsuit still don’t have standing to sue the government over its campaigns to promote fossil fuels, according to a brief filed by the Justice Department.

A previous prominent youth climate suit, Juliana v. US, was ultimately quashed by judges who ruled the claims couldn’t be redressed by courts, and the same issue plagues its successor case Lighthiser v. Trump, according to a federal brief filed July 11 at the US District Court for the District of Montana.
