State Department Renames US Institute of Peace for Trump

The State Department has renamed the US Institute of Peace for President Donald Trump, whose administration tried to dismantle the organization earlier this year.

“Welcome to the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace,” the department said Wednesday night in a post on X. “The best is yet to come.”

The post showed a photograph of the president’s name over the institute’s headquarters in downtown Washington.

On Thursday, Trump plans to hold a ceremony there with Presidents Felix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of Congo and Paul Kagame of Rwanda, who are expected to sign a peace accord to end ...
