Shutdown Slows Nearly $13 Billion Farm Aid Rollout, Senator Says

The Trump administration is preparing to distribute financial aid to US farmers that “could be a little less” than $13 billion—but the government shutdown may delay its rollout, the Senate’s top agriculture appropriator said Tuesday.

Administration officials indicated agriculture aid “might go as soon as today—I think that got changed because of shutdown,” Sen. John Hoeven (R-N.D.) told Bloomberg Government in an interview.
