Senate Finance Democrats Unveil 2026 Drug Pricing Plan (Correct)

Senate Finance Democrats, led by Finance ranking member Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), went after the drug supply chain in a press conference Wednesday, a sign that health care costs are becoming a focus for both parties as midterm elections heat up.

“We’re going to supercharge the Medicare drug price negotiations,” Wyden said. “We’re really going to go after middlemen.”

Democrats face long odds at retaking the Senate, but the press conference is a sign that the party is eager to use its historic advantage on health care to hold the drug industry to account.
