CDC Director Pushed Out
The career scientist who carefully walked the line between supporting vaccines and saying nothing bad about the new HHS secretary during her confirmation hearing is now out of a job after opposing her new boss on vaccines.
HHS announced in a post on X that Susan Monarez “is no longer director of CDC” and White House spokesperson Kush Desai said in an email that she “is not aligned with the President’s agenda of Making America Healthy Again.”
