Republicans on Their Way Out Will Still Come to Votes, Whip Says

House Republicans who won’t be in the next Congress will keep showing up to vote, preserving the GOP’s narrow hold on the chamber, the conference’s whip said.

Republicans who are running out the clock in their current job, such as Reps. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas), who lost his primary last week, and Wesley Hunt (R-Texas), who failed to make the runoff election in Texas’ GOP Senate primary, will keep showing up in Washington, chief vote counter Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) said Tuesday.
