Jeffries Vows Democrats Will Gain Upper Hand on Redistricting

A day after a lopsided vote in Indiana stymied President Donald Trump’s effort to tilt the state’s congressional map in his favor, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) said the president’s effort to skew districts across the country has been derailed.

“The reality of the situation is that Republicans may have started this redistricting battle, we as Democrats plan to finish it,” Jeffries said Friday. He added that if there is a “free and fair election” Republicans “are done in the House of Representatives.”
