The Department of Homeland Security has reportedly identified at least a half dozen warehouses to buy across the East Coast and Central US as the agency looks to expand its capacity to hold and transport detainees.
The government’s plan to purchase warehouse space is part of the agency’s larger goal to hold tens of thousands of detainees at facilities located around the country near logistics hubs, the Washington Post reported in December.
