House Takes Step Toward Reviving Minnesota Minerals Project

A measure aimed at helping resuscitate a proposed copper-and-nickel mine project in Minnesota now heads to the Senate, after the House passed it Wednesday.

House Republicans used the Congressional Review Act to pass the disapproval resolution (H.J.Res. 140), which would scrap a rule related to the Biden administration’s withdrawal of more than 225,000 acres of federal lands from mineral and geothermal leasing in northeastern Minnesota until 2043. The measure passed by a vote of 214-208.
